SpaceX has shown investors a prototype mobile phone that is thinner than an iPhone and runs a proprietary operating system, aiming to integrate Starlink satellite connectivity for mobile communications. This marks SpaceX's entry into the mobile phone market with a unique satellite-based approach, potentially disrupting traditional telecom by offering direct-to-cell satellite services without reliance on terrestrial cell towers. The prototype is reported to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and integrate technology from xAI, Elon Musk's AI company that SpaceX acquired earlier this year. Elon Musk has publicly denied the rumors of SpaceX making such a device.
